Gilded bronze and geometric marquetry support unit, decorated with vine branches, children's play scene, mascarons and foliage, the white marble top resting on fully bronze-trimmed uprights terminating in sabots. Attributed to Henry DASSON (1825-1896) Second half of the 19th century H. 107 cm; W. 108 cm; D. 47 cm Cracks to the inlaid panels on all sides (including a major crack to a panel on the front) and to the interior of the cabinet, minor dents to the inlay and wood (including one to the lock on the inside), scratches, dents to the marble. A pair of pieces of furniture with the same type of template and similar decoration, signed Henry Dasson, but adorned with porcelain plaques on the belt, were sold in Neuilly, Aguttes, on March 20, 2018, lot 379.
