Albertine MASSONAT (1883-1984), "Nature-morte aux Iris", Watercolor on paper mounted on wood panel, H. 67.5 cm; W. 45 cm Small stains Albertine Massonat is a watercolor artist and is reputed to have been a pupil of the artist Madeleine LEMAIRE (1845-1928). She was a member of the Union des Femmes Peintres et Sculpteurs (Union of Women Painters and Sculptors) between 1903 and 1904, the period in which she presented this work, as attested by the bill glued to the reverse. A unique piece presented for the first time on the auction market, this watercolor is probably a study by the artist, attesting to both her technical skills and her mastery of color.
