Henri MATISSE (1869-1954) - Lot 179
Henri MATISSE (1869-1954) "Nice, Work and Joy". 1947 Printed by Mourlot, Paris. Canvas lithograph 98.5 x 61.5 cm TBE. Small stains. The composition, still tinged with Fauvism, reveals a palm tree, but not the Promenade des Anglais. This is actually "Nature morte aux grenades", painted in Vence, a village in the Provence region of the Alpes Maritimes. The painting is now in the Musée Matisse in Nice.
