Unglazed entomological box containing European and exotic specimens of beetles including Carabidae, Cetonidae, Dysticidae, Passalidae, Vespidae, Chrysomelidae, Curculionidae, Scarabaeidae, Dermestidae. Some specimens collected in Mexico, Algeria, Brazil, Guyana and mainly France Severely damaged specimens with insect attacks, broken legs, headless... Specimens sold as is Species not listed in the Washington Convention (CITES), in European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 and prior to application of the French Environment Code. Expert : COMBREXELLE Michaël Former collection of Mr. Gardonne LEBRAULT (1881-1956), a delicatessen chef in Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole and taxidermist in his spare time, a discipline he practiced from 1910 to 1950. In 1910, he had the opportunity to acquire an important collection of avian, mammalian and ichthyological specimens naturalized between 1845 and 1900, which are notably presented in this sale. He enriched his collection with other specimens naturalized between 1900 and 1953. On his death, his entire collection of mammals, birds, fish and insects was kept by his family and displayed in glass cases for conservation purposes.
