European weasel (Mustela nivalis) (CH): Two fully naturalized specimens, mouth open in fighting stance, on wooden base; Retailliau Collection 1953"; naturalized before 1955 Species not listed in the Washington Convention (CITES), in European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 and in the French Environment Code. Specimens sold as is Expert : COMBREXELLE Michaël Former collection of Mr. Gardonne LEBRAULT (1881-1956), a delicatessen chef in Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole and taxidermist in his spare time, a discipline he practiced from 1910 to 1950. In 1910, he had the opportunity to acquire an important collection of avian, mammalian and ichthyological specimens naturalized between 1845 and 1900, which are notably presented in this sale. He enriched his collection with other specimens naturalized between 1900 and 1953. On his death, his entire collection of mammals, birds, fish and insects was kept by his family and displayed in glass cases for conservation purposes.
