Mahogany and speckled mahogany veneer high cabinet, the front opening to a drawer in the waist and two leaves revealing an interior fitted with two large sliding drawers. Gilt bronze ornamentation with ram's head and grapefruit friezes. Dark gray veined marble top. Stamped Jacob Frères rue Meslée. Consulate period L. 144.5 cm ; L. 95 cm ; l. 61 cm Restorations The company Jacob Frères Rue Meslée was created by Georges Jacob Fils and François-Honoré following the bankruptcy in 1796 of their father Georges Jacob, who then passed on the workshop to them. The company was active during the Directoire and Consulat periods. On the death of Georges Jacob fils in 1803, this company disappeared and Georges Jacob père founded a third company, with his son François-Honoré, called Jacob Desmalter et Cie.
