In the 1970s, Dalí, along with his collaborator John Henri Moore, entered the leather goods market by teaming up with the company E.G.I France. Together, they created a collection of various pieces of luggage, leather goods and small leather goods intended to be marketed to the widest possible audience, with the slogan "Taking Dalí on a trip is quite extraordinary. And possible (...)". Crafted by the finest Parisian artisans, the collection is presented in store windows, including those of Lancel. In 1971, an advertising campaign launched the collection, but the adventure came to an abrupt halt after a few months, without explanation. These pieces, produced in very limited numbers, are rare witnesses to contemporary fashion history.
