Attributed to Charles-François POERSON (1653-1725) - Lot 91
Attributed to Charles-François POERSON (1653-1725) Nymph and Satyr Pair of round panels, antique frame diameter: 12.5 cm We associate these paintings with the work of uncertain attribution, Cérès (round panel, diameter 12.8 cm. See B. Brejon de Lavergnée, N. de Reyniès, N. Sainte Fare Garnot, Charles Poerson 1609-1667, Paris, 1997, no. 151, reproduced). In both our paintings, the landscapes bear witness to a particular link with Rome. An attribution to Filippo Lauri has been suggested.
