Wood veneer desk with frieze decoration and frames, it opens with a drawer in the upper part, a flap with a leather-covered top revealing compartments and small drawers, and two leaves in the lower part, uprights with cut sides. Grey veined marble top (restored) Stamp : C. M MAG.... probably Claude-Mathieu MAGNIEN Louis XVI period H. 137 cm ; W 80 cm ; D 40 cm Accidents to the veneer Claude-Mathieu Magnien (1741 - October 15, 1829) - Cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on April 17, 1771. Towards the end of the reign of Louis XVI, this maker executed some works for the furniture of the Crown.
