VERDUIN (Pieter A.); MASSUET (Pierre). De l'amputation à lambeau, ou Nouvelle méthode d'amputer les membres A Paris, chez Vincent, 1756. In-8, [1] f., VIII-230 p., pl., brown calf spotted period, spine ribbed and decorated, title page, tr. jaspées (boards curved, spines cracked, vol. a little deformed by an old colourless wetness; sown with small spots in margins). First edition of this new translation, given by the physician Pierre Massuet, who has enlarged it with notes on the history of the discovery of this technique and of the various improvements that were subsequently made. It is illustrated with 9 copper-engraved folding plates. The first 7 appeared in the 1697 edition (Amsterdam, Wolters, translated by J. Vergniol), the last two are published here for the first time.
