[Binding with arms]. [Holy Week]. OFFICE of the Holy Week, Latin and French, according to the use of Rome and Paris In Paris, by A. Dezallier, 1708. In-8, contemporary red morocco, spine with 5 nerves, gilt title, crowned cipher and fleur-de-lys gilt on the caissons, triple gilt fillet bordering the boards, gilt arms in the centres, gilt roulette on the edges and chasses, gilt edges (rubbed, 3 corners worn, trailing headband unstuck and cover lac. along one caisson, scattered stains, 2 quires out of order). Edition illustrated with a frontispiece and 3 copper engraved plates. Provenance: Princess Palatine (Charlotte Elisabeth of Bavaria, 1652-1722, Duchess of Orléans): arms to the boards and repeated numeral to the spine; old handwritten ex-libris to the title, including nuns, one of whom was Sister Monge la jeune of the Abbey of Eau. Endpapers annotated and one f. of modern notes added. [Holy Week]. OFFICE (L') de la Semaine sainte et de l'octave de Pasque, en latin et en françois A Paris, chez D. Thierry, 1686. In-8, contemporary black morocco, spine with 5 nerves, gilt title, ornate caissons, boards decorated in the Duseuil style, gilt edges (defects and accidents including worms' tract on the upper board; soiling and browning). Edition illustrated with a copper-engraved frontispiece by F. Bazin, and 4 unsigned engraved plates; one flyleaf enclosed. Provenance: Dautheuil, physician, Picardie, 20th c. (bookplate). 2 volumes.
