Monet asks his friend, the art critic Gustave Geffroy (1855-1926), to allow Blanche Hoschedé access to the painting salon presented under the auspices of the Société nationale des Beaux-Arts, at the Champ de Mars, Paris. [Miss Blanche Hoschedé, who has to come to Paris after tomorrow, May 13th, would like to take advantage of her stay to go to the Champ de Mars. She was one of the painter's models, then became his assistant and only pupil. Her style is very similar to the work of the master. In 1897 she married one of his sons, Jean Monet. She played an important role in the maintenance and preservation of the garden of Giverny. She regularly exhibited her own work in Rouen, starting in 1903.
