First edition of this superb monograph. The illustration entirely engraved on copper consists of a frontispiece showing the king ordering the construction of the Hôtel des Invalides on the plain of Grenelle, and 18 folding plates engraved by Pierre Lepautre, Jean Marot and D. Marot.
