FRISSARD (P.F.). Theatre of Dieppe. Twenty folio plates with explanatory text. In Paris, by Carilian-Goeury, [1826]. In-folio, [1] f. (engraved title with vignette), 32 p., pl., contemporary fawn half-basin, smooth spine (spine very rubbed and stained, upper jaw split, headbands worn; freckles in the text, sporadic on the plates and especially in the margin). Uncommon work comprising 20 plates engraved by Adam after Monnoyeur and Amédée Foret showing views, plans, sections and elevations of this theatre inaugurated by the Duchess of Berry on 8 August 1826. Frissard, engineer of the Ponts et Chaussées, was then in charge of the construction of the ports of Dieppe and St-Valéry-en-Caux. Copy enriched with 4 press engravings and an article of the time, showing the interiors of theatres. Provenance: Jarrier, architect (ex-libris stamped on the title).
