Genevae, sumptibus Leonardi Chouët & Socii, 1686. 2 vols. in-folio, [6] f., 882 p., [10] f., 13 pl. + [7] f., 1021 p., [12] f. New edition following the original of 1684 of this imposing work, which combines a compilation of the most important medical studies of the 17th century with the observations of the author, himself a physician. Théophile Bonet (1620-1689) is considered the creator of pathological anatomy and the precursor of Morgagni, who, like Haller, admired his work. The work is illustrated with 33 plates (here 32 with discontinuous numbering), some double or folding, representing parts of the human body, animals, plants, as well as monstrous creatures. (Wellcome, 1-5827; Brunet I, 1098, ed. 1685).
