GYP (pseud. of Sibylle-Gabrielle-Marie-Antoinette de Riquett - Lot 458
GYP (pseud. of Sibylle-Gabrielle-Marie-Antoinette de Riquetti de Mirabeau). Signed autograph manuscript, with autograph penances and corrections, [circa 1892]. In-folio (ca. 37 x 23 cm), purple ink on the recto alone, foliated from 2 to 51 (except 5, plus 6 bis). Bundle folded in 2, first page slightly soiled and crumpled leg. (missing pages 1 and 5; modern pencil mention on the back of the last page). A small dramatic and humorous play, set in the Château des Bouleaux, between Nevers and Moulins, which stages a meeting held on the occasion of the signing of a marriage contract. Gyp, as usual, gives here a friendly caricature of the good society in which she herself was a member. Beautiful manners, innuendoes, cruel projections and marauding are the ingredients of this charming playlet, which appeared under the title of "Monsieur le Duc" in the magazine La Vie parisienne on July 9, 1892.
