Wooden statuette of lime or poplar stained, stuccoed and pol - Lot 397
Wooden statuette of lime or poplar stained, stuccoed and polychrome, representing Mary, a cherub at her feet. The new Eve, standing on a crescent moon, treads with her feet a snake coiled on itself, symbolizing the victory over evil and sin. She is adorned with a coat richly decorated with motifs enhanced with gold France, circa 1750 H. Some missing parts, notably the joined hands, a small fragment at the edge of the mantle on the right arm, and in polychromy, especially on the reverse.
